This book didn't age well. When I first got into Lee Child's Reacher series, I think I probably enjoyed "Tripwire." Re-reading it 20 years later, it is pretty awful.

Feb 28, 2013 There was a few holes in the plot. Those aside, something sinister was cooking from page one but I never got much wiser until near the end. Good details on Vietnam soldiering and MIAs ... and for all his troubles, Reacher was…

Tripwire is a reasonably good action/suspense story. Jack Reacher is a reasonably good action character. And the English writer Lee Child is a reasonably good writer of fiction. The problem that I have with this particular novel is that…

Another enjoying read getting to know more of Reacher's background. It's like getting on a interesting train ride that just picks up speed and excitement.

I have read and enjoyed all Lee Child’s novels but this one. The antagonist in this novel is a sadist, and the violence he visits on numerous innocents is extreme, frequent, and drawn out at great length to the point of being gratuitous…

I am reading the entire Jack Reacher series for the second time, only this time I am going backwards, from the latest to the first. This is one of the best. It gives an insight to the big man, very early in his career. I have to say ,…

I have read a few of the Jack Reacher series. This one was my favorite so far. I liked the romance portion being brought forward from the past.

I just read Tripwire for the third time (or was it the fourth) in more than two decades and I have enjoyed it more each time. This Jack Reacher novel was certainly head and shoulders above Lee's latest works.

This is not my favorite Jack Reacher novel -- that would be '61 Hours' -- but I certainly enjoy picking it up again once in awhile. After 20 years, it's still a fun read. Child is meticulously faithful to New York City geography; the…

This is the first Child book I've read. Easy to see why he's popular author . The villain is memorable.

I've read three Jack Reacher books now. I like them a lot, but almost didn't finish this one. Parts of it are so gruesome, yet so fascinating, I couldn't give up on it. I wanted to find out the ending! I plan to read the whole series. He's…

If you are a Jack Reacher fan you will like this book. If you are not, you haven't read a Jack Reacher book before; time to start now and Tripwire is a great place to start. It has all the elements of the usual Reacher stories - suspense,…

I really like the Jack Reacher series. Even "not the best" is sometimes hard for me to put down. That being said, this is me nit picking (but it's the internet so I'm allowed to, right?). The part where Jodie, a beautiful and stylish…

Reacher flying first class-this is something new. An old flame and a very evil bad guy help keep you reading/ I would bet we see this lady again as Reacher is also stuck with real property. Will Reacher settle down-no way-stay tuned! Avoid…

I like Jack Reacher as a character despite the impermanence he maintains with persons or places in his life. There are some super cruel persons in the story, yet Child manages to end up with Reacher taking steps to a warm ending for some…

I have yet to meet a Jack Reacher novel that I didn't love. (Heck, I even enjoyed the Jack Reacher movie - despite the horrible casting of Tom Cruise as Jack... a major part of Jack's persona is his SIZE!) I have read the main series…

A fantastic Jack Reacher book ... Action from the first chapter... What I cannot understand is how Tom Cruise was cast to play the Reacher character in the movie... Does not fit the description at all... Should have been a role for…

As a big fan of Jack Reacher, I found this story excessively and unnecessarily tedious and long. For example, there is nearly a chapter on bones that would put a physical anthropologist to sleep. The sadistic nature of one of the main…

Another of the Jack Reacher series. Jack goes north to NY to solve why just asking about him got a P.I. killed. In the process, he is reunited with a special lady who he had a complicated relationship before. The villian here is extremely…
