What a heavy, heavy collection of short stories. Especially Once Upon a Time and Some Are Born to Sweet Delight. Cringe-inducing. Not something you wanna read if you'd like to feel particularly good about... anything. However, the stories are very powerful and moving and well-written (most things by Nobel Laureates generally are...).
