I remember seeing The Rolling Stone that mentioned Jeff Buckley's passing. I was in a Borders in Atlanta. I fell on the floor and despite myself I started to sob. Grace had lived on my stereo and in my car's CD player for months after I discovered it and I was distraught, not just because he was gone, but because talents this pure and magical are rare beyond knowing. The oddest thing is, he wasn't satisfied with how he sounded, what he sounded like. Here was this living angel, who could move souls so easily and he wanted to be a Rock n' Roll God. Proof positive that we are rarely satisfied with what we have, even if what we have is unparalleled.

The seminal work of the late Jeff Buckley. Cited as a major influence of several current alternative bands, such as Radiohead and Muse. Buckley's voice is unmatched in both its range and expression. Added to unusual progressive composition, this album becomes not only deeply melodious, but also highly distinctive. Included on this album are the singles "Last Goodbye" and "Grace" and the popular cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." Probably the greatest album of its decade.
