Add a Commentone of the most funniest movies of the 70's. goldie hawn and chevy chase were so great you could never believe, dudley moore and burgess meredith were amazing, one of two movies tha featured hawn/chase the other was seems like old times,it aged very well,a must own dvd.great movie that never goes out of style.
🎶Notice that Chevy takes Goldie to the opera to point out the bad guy, who is a seven-foot albino. Even in San Francisco, he would stand out. Goes on a little too long, but still funny.
If you want to see San Francisco before it's current problems, watch this delightful comedy from 1978. Funny, and Goldie Hawn is wonderful as scatterbrained Gloria. Dudley Moore was a scene stealer as the want to be swinger. Chevy Chase is the bumbling cop, and look for the old ladies playing Scrabble, their choice of words is quite risqué.
I love love love this movie despite the fact that it is dated. Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase are good, but it is all the small bit characters that make this movie.
Romantic comedy thriller that doesn't succeed at any of these. Goldie Hawn is the innocent drawn into a plot to kill the pope. The Hitchcock references are pretty obvious, even down to an attempted murder at the opera ("The Man Who Knew Too Much"). Chevy Chase, playing Chevy Chase (It's the role he was born to play.), is a cop protecting her. The capable, but underused, supporting cast includes Burgess Meredith, Brian Dennehy, and Dudley Moore, in his first American role. Director Colin HIggins wrote "Harold & Maude," but there is none of that film's dark wit.
This movie is goofy with moments of hilarity. Burgess Meredith is a wonderful black belt and the Japanese couple in the taxi are worth the price of admission.
