My absolute favourite by Peter Reynolds. A must read!

This gem has inspired me to live life more ish-fully, like Ramon and his dear sister Marisol. Recommended for budding artists who struggle with self-confidence.

After my heart was broken listening to my son put down the picture of the window he drew because it wasn't perfect I went in search of books to show things don't need to be perfect and I found this.
A perfect book, and our 3 year old loved it especially as the writer makes it fun by using the "ish", kids won't even know they are learning a valuable lesson :)

A book that reminds us that works don't have to be 'perfect' to be beautiful and or meaningful.

A Quote from the book: "...thinking ish-ly allowed his ideas to flow freely. He began to draw what he felt - ...without worry"

This is a sequel to "The Dot". Ramon focuses on drawing "perfectly" after his brother criticizes his work. He loses the enjoyment and eventually gives up on drawing. Ramon's little sister puts up a gallery of his crumpled work and inspires him to draw again. His sister says his drawings are art and look "ish"...perfect-ish, boat-ish, tree-ish, vase-ish. So, this book is a great way to inspire each child to create and enjoy the process no matter what the product ends up looking like. After all, it will be "perfect-ish".

Yes, it's a picture book, but our teacher read it to us in fifth grade and it's truly cool.
