I got to page 90-something and had to call it quits. There's a never-ending cast of characters and the point of view bounces around mid-chapter and sometimes mid-paragraph. I found this style of writing to be confusing, and I wasn't all that interested in the characters or what they were doing. Maybe there is a pay off if you can make it to the end of this book, but I guess I'll never know.

Almost two stars because I stuck with it to the end desperately hoping just one of the countless storylines would at least get close to a conclusion. Even if it had been one of the animals I would have been happy. Every few pages a new storyline coming right of left field and going nowhere.

It appears to be a disjointed, scattered bunch of self indulgent 'pretty' ramblings of a frustrated poet. There was zero storyline, zero character development and zero plot and zero ending.

Don't bother. It will only frustrate you.

Liked this book a lot. Well written and crafted as well as a very interesting story. It was a pleasure to read something that was not formulaic as many books seem these days. A wonderful cast of characters that are interwoven together to create a place more than a tie with individual characters. I am putting her other books on hold so I can read more!
