A rogue band of DJs captivate Britain in the 1960s. The music they play defines a generation and the DJs stand up to a government that, incomprehensibly, preferred jazz. The Count is a big, brash, American god of the airwaves; Quentin is the boss of Radio Rock. Radio rock is a pirate radio station situated in the middle of the North Atlantic that's populated by an eclectic crew of rock and roll DJs that include: Gavin, the greatest DJ in Britain who has just returned from his drug tour of America who wants to reclaim his rightful position; Dave, an ironic, intelligent and cruelly funny co-broadcaster; and a fearsome British government official out for blood against the drug takers and lawbreakers of a once-great nation.

Such a fun movie, especially the music for those of us who grew up in the 1960s. A great way to take your mind of all the COVID-19 troubles.

This is an immensely fun movie. If you're a fan of British comedy or of rock 'n roll at all, you will enjoy this film. It contains a lot of big British names, including Bill Nighy, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rhys Ifans, Chris O'Dowd, Katherine Parkinson, Kenneth Branagh, and a few short scenes featuring Emma Thompson. This movie will have you boppin' your head and singing along! And that climatic ending at sea will have you glued to the television screen!

This film from the makers of "Notting Hill" and "Love Actually" has its moments, but doesn't rise to the same heights.

For the music alone, no matter when you were born, 5 outta 5 stars; plus the story was solid. Great film.

Careful attention by viewer is rewarded because every line of dialogue, whether spoken by the radio station people or the government people, is clever and usually hilarious. Well played by all the actors and actresses. Never heard of it when in came out in 2009.

One of the best music movies I've ever seen! watching the deleted scenes is a must as most (40mins) were for time not content. As for "badgirls" comment, that's like complaining about movies about Hitler portraying him as a sick individual!

Great music! The plot is a little on the goofy side, but it is based on certain facts from the 60's. Anyway, it was a fun one to watch.
