Sam, a former boy turned wolf, and Grace, a girl, want to be together but have to fight for their love. Why it's my favorite: The writing is good. The story is set up delicately and sets the mood for the rest of the book. - Chloe, Teen Volunteer

I may like this book, I picked it up off the shelf. Nowhere on the outside did it say it required reading previous novels to know what the heck this was about. Maybe I'll hunt down the first in the series. Very disappointed.

This book is cool beans. It's not a literary masterpiece but if you like Twilight-esque love stories, you'll enjoy this.

As was the case with Shiver, I might have slightly mixed feelings about this book. The central conflict of the book -- Grace's mysterious werewolf illness -- took foreverrrrr to develop, and then ended on a huge cliffhanger. But! All the interpersonal stuff was so good. The addition of Cole as a character was unquestionably the book's biggest strength -- he is fascinating on his own, and even more fascinating when he is interacting with Isabel. I honestly find the two of them more interesting than Sam and Grace (who I am fond of, but are less damaged and intriguing to me as a reader). Like the first one, it's well-written and very hard to put down -- I totally get why these books are so popular.

A heart-wrenching second book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series, with lyrical writing reminiscent of the German poetry that features occasionally in the story. I distinctly remember telling my husband, the first time I finished this book, that it had the same feel for me as songs from The Fray. Stiefvater has a wonderful way of creating characters, and I enjoyed how the story was built via four very distinct voices.

Shiver is way better, but Forever and Sinner make up for the loss in Linger. Maggie Steifvater is an amazing author, and I hope she continues to write. I'm a huge fan. She inspires me to never give up on what I believe in through Grace. She inspires me to keep writing and doing what I love no matter what through Sam. She inspires me to never give up through Isabel. And Maggie Steifvater inspires me to be me through Cole.

Thank you so much, Calgary Public Library System for allowing me to take these amazing books out, and be inspired by them.

Thank you Maggie Steifvater, for being an amazing author, and inspiring me. I hope to find more of your work, and keep being inspired by it.

Shiver is actually kind of better than this one. But if you stick through it, Forever makes up for it.

Sam thinking: This is the story of a boy who used to be a wolf, and a girl who became one. I won't let this be my goodbye. I've folded one thousand paper crane memories of me and Grace, and I've made my wish. I will find a cure. And then I will find Grace.

Cole: I had to admit, too, that a big part of me was curious as hell to see what Sam would do when faced with the mighty bathtub.
