Fossum creates meta-fiction with elements of the Scandinavian crime novels she's known for, resulting in a fantastic book. The author interacting with her character and revealing the fact that she can't give him the storyline that he wants is sad and yet strangely believable. A great read.

Not for everybody. Serious focus on the psychological mystery writing process; definitely not the common Fossum genre of the troubled, aging Mankell-type murder detective.

Awww . . . this book was sad! I thought it was interesting how the author formated the book. Even though it was sad, it was a really good read!

Without giving anything away, I guess I was expecting a bit of a different ending but that doesn't matter because the author accomplished what she wanted to do, which is stated earlier in the book. The story was very intriguing and I enjoyed it! =)
