“Dark City” is important in that it was the first Hollywood film production including Charlton Heston (before this Heston made a film while in high school and then years later made a film in Chicago in which he was the only paid actor). During these years he shunned Hollywood mostly for live theatre, but finally relented to make “Dark City.” This film seems to exclude the expressionist elements of most film noirs as most is shot in bright daylight instead of scenes with shadows, darkness, and water soaked urban streets. There are a few defects such as missing frames and one scene where the video distorts for maybe a half minute.

a start for the eventual gun advocate Moses or Ben Hur. Wow the tv la detective guy is a real goon.

An early mix of crime drama and psycho-stalker genres. Heston looks about as comfortable as a unicorn at a race track. Liz Scott and the rest of the cast are pros, but they are acting with a human green screen.
