The touching and revealing first-person account of the remarkable work of Dr. Randy Christensen. Trained as a pediatrician, he works not in a typical hospital setting but, rather, in a 38-foot Winnebago that has been refitted as a doctor's office on wheels. His patients are homeless adolescents and children living on the outskirts of Phoenix.

After reading this book, which is good, you must read Rene Denfeld's book The Enchanted, which is even better. She ghost wrote Ask Me Why I Hurt. In the Enchanted, she fictionalises what happens to these types of kids when the system fails them and they grow into troubled adults.

A very inspiring book, and the writer's dedication and passion shines through. It was reassuring to know that some of the youth overcame the horrendous abuse and neglect they went through, and were able to succeed.

I highly recommend this book & I admire the author for his work! He has been helping homeless teens in Arizona with medical care, for over 10 years, - out of a mobile health clinic. You will be amazed and saddened at what these young people have to deal with- like cockroaches in their ears! He also volunteered to help after Hurricane Katrina.
