Great read for fans of historical fiction. Quite dark, but that should be a given considering that it is set in Victorian London.Told from many points of view, and some are more objective than others lending a pleasing subtlety to the story.

I couln't get into this novel. I don't know if it was the era of the setting or the way that the author chose to portray the characters and align his chapters.
