(The ninth book in the Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles series)

It's been months since I've read a book that made me wish for the end of the meeting, the end of the project, the end of the work day, just so I could get back to the story. The Silent Girl reminded me how much fun it is to read a "can't put it down" book.

An excellent mystery novel, although you can determine most of the answers to the "puzzle", long before the conclusion, even the little twist at the end. None the less, it was an enjoyable read, Tess Gerritsen is an excellent writer.

This is a great audiobook read by someone either with or doing a great impression of a Boston accent, which adds to the authencity of the reading. Gerritsen fans, especially those of the Rizzoli and Isles series, will get caught up in this story weaving elements of the mythical Chinese Monkey King with the Irish mob and a massacre that occurred in a Chinese restaurant 19 years ago.

Tess is very consistent in writing good books. Not outstanding, but still quite good. This one is no exception. 7 of 10 for me.
