Might be a good representation of Chicago politics. Maybe that's why there was not a single character I liked or wanted to root for. Certainly not worth my time.

Very good representation of Chicago politics, almost verging on docu-drama. As good as House of Cards. HoC is more theatrical, Boss is more gritty. Kelsey Grammer and all in the cast, are excellent.

Only pick this up because I wanted to kill some time over a weekend. Within minutes I was hooked. While most of you know about issues with national gov't, this shows what happens locally. Everything and everyone has a price. Know yours before watching

I did'nt care for Kelsey Grammer as BOSS. The show changes scenes to fast and there is very little music in the show. The music that is played do not match the show. Mr. Grammer is way to serious in this show. I have to give the show 1 star!

I love this show. The "gratuitous" sex ( as one NYPL patron states)regarding Kitty and the congressman (?) is kind of funny. She is really a tramp or nympho and it just depicts a woman who is out of control. As far as the mayor's daughter and the good looking young drug dealer, I didn't understand the "gratuitous" sex while hiding from a drug gang. Seemed to me to be a little ridiculous. However, I think the entire show is great. Kelsey is great. The man really knows how to act. He can be funny and he can be vicious. Great range. Anxiously awaiting Boss Season 2.

I love Kelsey Grammar and so waited quite awhile while this was on hold. When I got it, I could barely watch the first episode. Everyone varied from a jerk to done right mean and cruel. The story was uninteresting and I felt the violence, violent acts (even if you didn't see them) and gratuitous sex were all over the top and unnecessary.
If the story and acting are good, all of those things can fit. I love House of Cards, Rome, and other more edgy shows or movies as well. There was nothing there that encouraged me to watch another episode.
Too bad.

A American house of cards

Not a single character to like or admire, gratuitous sex scenes, and a fine (as ever) performance by Kelsey Grammar. Nope. Not enough to move me to watch more than two episodes. Compared to truly first-rate shows such as Homeland, Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones, this series just doesn't measure up.

Disappointed. Only watched the 1st three episodes. Don't think of myself as a prude, but I don't see where the gratuitous sex adds to the plot, could have been implied. Otherwise I probably would have enjoyed the series.

Enjoying this series altho there are a lot of very vivid sex scenes. The plot is very interesting and different. I must say though, spending an hour or two with these characters makes me feel like I need a shower!
