Surprisingly entertaining. No acting awards to be won, but good action pace, with a fairly bloody body count.

I liked this DVD. It is mostly an action fast paced movie. It has a lot of violence. There is some subtle sexual scenes. There is a lot of car chasing scenes without very much dialogue. I do not recommend it for children. The characters are shallow. The story is not deep. A lot of things blow up and a lot of guns are shot. It was not realistic. It is called "The Last Stand" because Arnold decides to stop the drug lord from getting away from USA Law even if it kills him.

I really like Arnie, but...
This film creates a new definition of STUPID. (On every level imaginable, and then some.)

This is not the stupidest action movie ever made. I'm almost certain of it.

Funny and cool.

Even though the humor feels strained at times, “The Last Stand” is surprisingly enjoyable.

I really liked this: I thought Aaahnld showed that he is capable of acting. Journeyman psycho Peter Stormare was cheesily good as always as the cartel's head honcho's henchman. I also liked what (non-English-speaking) Korean director Kim Jee-Woon did with the western movie elements he pays homage to (Stormare's weapon in the film is a vintage Colt Navy revolver or something like it).

This turned out to be much better than i ever expected it to be period.Coming from an oriental or Asian director this is more than reasonable because they supervise the GREATEST ACTION SET PIECES OF ALL TIME.Their effort to make me laugh via Johnnie Knoxville is so LAME,it ain't even funny (pun intended). The action more than makes up for this though overall period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arnold got the good lines and delivered with his unique cadence; a violent crime story balanced with humorous scenes.

Not as dumb as I'd expect. This features a drug kingpin making an escape and a run for the border. A small town sheriff who used to be in the LAPD decides to stand in his way. The film is very violent, as you'd expect, but more entertaining than I would have thought. The one problem with the film is the casting of Johnny Knoxville, truly one of the most obnoxious human beings on the planet. Why this complete prat gets roles is beyond me, but every time he's on screen, it's like fingernails on a blackboard.

Cortez: You know what, Sheriff?
All you have to do is let me
walk across that border.
Hell, twelve thousand
Mexicans come across every day.
You shouldn't mind if one goes back.
What do you say?

Ray: You make us immigrants look bad.
