Nineteenth-century Paris comes alive in Jean Renoir's tale of the opening of the Moulin Rouge. Jean Gabin plays Danglard, who makes the cancan all the rage while juggling the love of two beautiful women: an Egyptian belly-dancer and a naive working girl-turned-cancan star. Includes a cameo by Edith Piaf.

Director Jean Renoir is considered a genius. "Frenc Can-Can" proves it!

A nice little 1955 French sub-titled film with a very wonderful, very raucous can-can scene at the end.

This isn't Cole Porter's musical, "Can-Can". but a recent French production, which while theatrical in quality, is more historically correct. This is not a great movie, but it is easy to watch and does have a couple of very funny moments.

too bad that this DVd has some issue...however most of it can be watched. Kind of silly at times but enjoyable.
