Add a CommentThis one is a play. Exceptional actors; addresses very heavy issues (drugs, prostitution; and prejudice between the classes)...this movie is also an example on how to face these heavy issues with strength and finesse, and is an example in humanity and ethics on numerous levels. I would have been happy with more humor and comedy; but those parts of the movie that were funny, were absolutely hilarious and I loved it! I love Madea's flagrant fearlessness, and nonchalant righteousness... she is driven, relies on luck as much as she takes matters into her own hands; and she knows how to capitalize on her assets! D.D. in Chicago
Two storylines merged into one movie, and lots of laughter!

I love Tyler Perry!
A few laughs happen during the Madea portions of this one. This movie plays out like two completely different movies mashed together. A stereotypical black goofball comedy and a poorly acted romantic drama. I wasn't blown away by the comedy and the drama was so bad it ruined the movie.
love this movie its fun
Interesting movie, hilarous, recommended for family viewing.
Fair – Madea Goes to Jail (2009) 103 min. For the price of one film, you get two which eventually converge into one story. One story follows the cantankerous Madea as she tries to avoid jail and the other centers on a man who tries to help an old friend from a life on the streets. The extreme comedy to extreme dramatic situations is strange as a concept but for some reason, the film does work to a degree. The comedy is funny and the dramatic situations have some moral teachings worth a watch. This is not a great film by any stretch of the imagination but it does have its charm despite the overwhelming panning by critics.
