These films start out with promise of being cool and something different and then halfway through the director seems to panic and change the movie into something really stupid still different but I mean I liked this movie till the CGI God Anubis showed up and it was like What ? I mean i was expecting a mummy bad CGI i would have forgiven that but this was really bad at that point I finished it and was like wow can i get my time back?

A group of archaeologists explore beneath a pyramid and find that there is more to the pyramid than they first thought. A mysterious, violent creature begins to hunt the group as they become trapped underground in the tunnels of the pyramid. The movie is similar to “The Descent” in that they are both about a group that is trapped in the residence of violent creatures. The tight spaces really helped the thrill aspect of the movie. Additionally, I did not find the CGI to be that good. Towards the end when you actually see the creature, it is not nearly as terrifying as one might expect. It would’ve helped if the CGI was more refined and realistic.

Typical B movie "horror". It had some good qualities..the "creatures" were kinda cool. It certainly is not a waste of time but don't expect to be "scared" or thrilled. It is what it okay timewaster for those who enjoy films like tremors.

I rated this movie as 21/2 stars, mainly because the film segments in the Pyramid was too dark to follow effectively. Otherwise the story was interesting but to be a good horror movie it was too mild ({PG-13).

Another underwhelming horror adventure. Rotten Tomatoes nailed the rating: Rating: 11% - 37 votes; Critics Consensus: Poorly lit and thinly writ, ... Similar theme to " As Above, So Below, 2014" and both flopped after promising start.

My expectations weren't high, and this met them. Felt slightly long at 90 minutes.

Pretty bad. Had some interesting moments, but cgi was poor, the archeologists not very bright, and the daughter was so annoying I was really hoping she'd be killed off.

Really horrible movie. The writers never bothered to research Egyptian pyramids or mythology.

This is is awful ! ...when I got this NYPL disc home and put this movie in the DVD player...and the screen says: "NOT FORMATTED FOR THIS REGION" !!?? ( Even though it states "Region #1", on the DVD jacket !!?)
I have watched a thousand other New York Public Library DVDs on my Panasonic Region 1 DVD Player,.. but this one makes it over 32 TIMES that a film has come up as "NOT FORMATTED..." etc. !
I waited a long time to get this highly recommended film.
I really wanted to see this movie.
And I know that ALL the NYPL copies of this title will have this same problem !!
WHY is the New York Public Library buying DVD's that are "NOT FORMATTED.." to be viewed in this region ?
Has this ever happened to anyone else out there ??

Has some scenes that will make you jump starts slow but it is better than a lot of recent horror movies like Ouija.
