They could have given us more information/examples. But the video certainly enhances our understanding of Edwardian life and times. I especially enjoyed the examples of hat doffing.

Fascinating documentary on the backstory of Edwardian social customs. "Downton Abbey", so steeped in manners, develops an even deeper richness after seeing this documentary — because the carefully subtleties of that far more formal social world make more sense after having been given a primer on "the rules". So different was that world from ours today that it's almost foreign. This level of formality probably only exists today at state dinners. Yet it's good to understand. RECOMMENDED.
