Beautiful and atmospheric. The details perhaps are not solid enough for the crime enthusiast but this series gave me- as a Scandinavian culture enthusiast- compelling episodic stories and a setting to get lost in. I don't normally enjoy any type of crime genre stories so this was my first Scandinavian crime series. Violence isn't graphically shown in the act (though is still grim), and the show doesn't glamorize the violence or the victims. Plus, it features a strong and independent woman. Not likely to be very popular with mainstream crime TV fans looking for a fast-paced mystery to solve while watching along, this is a great quiet show for someone looking for a police-lite diversion with spectacular scenery.

Maria Wern and her colleagues are complex, interesting characters. While the plotting is not exceptional it's solid. This mini-series of 7 episodes comes in two sets and is filmed on Swedish island of Gotland so some nice shots of locale add interest.

Interesting series. Subtitles can be easily read. Has given me a new genre to watch.

Lots of unexplained inconsistencies in the storyline. Not the best of police dramas.
This series goes straight to video release and has never been shown on TV. Enough said.
