This book was a disappointment and, in my opinion, did not come up to his usual standard. Perhaps he's run out of ideas for the Cliftons as some of the plot was rather far fetched.
couldn't put it down - excellent read
Author keeps u in suspense so u just have to read the next in the series
Book 6 of Clifton chronicles and I couldn't put this one down either! It has been on my TBR pile for well over a year and I own a hardcover as well as the e book (in Kobo and Kindle). I knew once I started it I would want to finish the series in one long reading session.
My favourite part was Lady Virginia's conning of Cyrus. That is one whily woman!
Of course the Barrington brother & sister being on opposite sides of the election campaigns has been interesting and Harry's staunch support of imprisoned Russian author made for a good story line.
Great series enjoyed it immensly
Enjoying this series - has been awhile since I had read any of Archer's books and this series is as good as I remember his earlier books to be. Interesting characters with lots of story lines but they are easy to follow. Finding myself cheering on some of them and waiting for others to get their just dues. Now it is on to the last volume and the conclusion of this many faceted story.
I always look forward to J. Archer's works. This is a good read and a fast reads. Can hardly start the last of the series .
An incredible read that fits well into the series and leads well into the 7th and final novel soon to be released. It's everything you can expect from Archer with great plot twits and ending that leaves you wanting more. Absolutely looking to forward to the final novel in this series and I know Archer will continue to impress.
I can't imagine what my reading life will be like without the Clifton's (and company). If you need a binge read start with "Only time will tell" and just keep reading - you won't regret it!
(P.S. - if Sebastian dies in "This was a man" i will be devastated)
Excellent book. Fifth in six part chronical. Archer is a masterful story teller.
