This extraordinary labor of love brings leadbelly's prodigious corpus fully out into the light, and lets us appreciate the complexity of the man and the music he engendered. The essays and notes on each song are wonderful - the first essay a little too new journalism for my taste, but the rest wonderful. Finally a celebration of his work worthy of this great man.
