The perfect marriage? Or the perfect lie? Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do. You'd like to get to know Grace better. But it's difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn't work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.

This is another book about a man controlling and abusing a woman. Absolute trash. Don't waste your time

A good suspenseful page-turner!

I find B.A. Paris books somewhat formulaic. Not this one - we knew who the bad guy was for most of the book and that created the suspension. This was an excellent read.

I finished this book quickly because it pained me to hear a story so wrapped in stupidity.

This book was an intense page turner. It was easy to get into and hard to put it down (I read it in 2 days). The end was a bit anticlimactic, but overall a good book.

Pretty good tense thriller, in the "Gone Girl" mode of woman in peril. Continues the annoying trend of flipping back and forth between past and present, and as the past gets closer to the present, it gets a little confusing to remember what has happened already. Why the story couldn't be told in a straight linear fashion is not clear, author or editor decision??

I found the writing to be tedious and overwrought. Interesting story line and subject matter, but written with no finesse.
