Lovely illustrations and sweet story line. I'm not overly fond of pill bugs (rolly polies, potato bugs, sowbugs, etc.), but I love this book.

Hank is a Hero and his friendship with Amelia, human girl, is inspiring.
This book has bold and creative illustrations and I love it's diverse characters. Try asking your kids to engage with Hank's size. "What does life look like from the perspective of a pill bug/rolly-polly/pissebedden?"

Delightfully sweet story about the friendship between a pillbug named Hank and Amelia (named for Amelia Earhart) who loves to fly. We learn about Hank's day via a variety of illustrative perspectives (from Hank's, overhead, etc) and then follow along on his exciting adventure with Amelia. This is a simple yet engaging tale that will be suitable for older toddlers and preschoolers and will appeal especially to fans of bugs and nature.
