"Game Art" is, as the title suggests, full of high quality pages of visual art lifted from the world of video games. However, what truly stands out in this book are the numerous interviews conducted with game developers from all over the world contained in its pages. The creative minds from industry titans like Square Enix, Koei Tecmo, Ubisoft, and Bioware offer their insight alongside a variety of indie studios, some of which I had never even heard of before. The pictures themselves are as beautiful and awe-inspiring as the games they come from, including both in game screenshots and concept artwork. As much a lens into the world and process of game design & creation as it is a celebration of video game's contribution to the visual arts. Highly recommended!
