Not the light-hearted comedy I was looking for. First movie was good at capturing the "chick lit" movement and I wasn't expecting drama or complicated plot from this one. However, there's little chemistry between the character that Renee plays and the American "challenger", while Colin Firth seems rather depressed. While presented as a sidenote, teaching children how to swear and assess bedmates also seemed incongruous despite pained attempts to make it seem charming.

I'm no prude but I thought the first third of this movie was vulgar and I almost turned it off. The whole premise was ridiculous but I will agree with other reviewers: Emma Thompson was absolutely fantastic as her doctor and shines every time that she is on screen. If you watch the extras, Emma talks about being a co-writer on this movie and her first time writing a romantic-comedy. I truly hope we see more of this talented writer-actor. "Geriatric" pregnancy certainly hits it dead on; Colin Firth looked like he was embarassed to be in the movie.

I loved the first few BJones movies, this one however was horrible. I am so sad to have wasted my precious time. The rushed and thrown together movie was not good at all and ruined the whole series for me. Dont waste your time!

Bridget Jones’s Baby is a fairly good film in the Bridget Jones series. The film centers around a forty-something and single Bridget Jones. She then gets put in a situation where she’s pregnant, but she does not know if the Father is Mark Darcy or Jack Qwant. Although, the film does not follow the third book by Helen Fielding, it’s still a good installment to the series. Colin Firth and Renee Zellweger are both great as Bridget and Mark, and Patrick Dempsey is okay as Jack. Fans are disappointed that Hugh Grant isn’t in this film, but the infamous Daniel Cleaver is still mentioned. It is not known if Bridget Jones’s Baby is the last film in the Bridget Jones series, but if it is then it’s a nice ending to her story. This film is really nice to watch if you really love romantic comedies.

Bridget Jones is a woman of a certain age. She has far more interest in living her life fully as a spinster than engaging in any more affairs of the heart. She has a nice home and a solid job. Everything she needs is provided by her. With her self-sufficient lifestyle, she is no longer melancholy about being single. She's quite empowered, liberated even, going to a music festival with a colleague one weekend and being a godmother the next. Unfortunately, living that kind of life, engaging in a one night stand before returning to a friendly face, results in surprises, including an unexpected baby. And with no inkling as to which man is the father, she is truly in a pickle. While nowhere near as entertaining and charismatic as the first, BRIDGET JONES'S BABY succeeds at being a sequel. Warts and all, it is an honest update on a flawed screwball sweetheart character that people just can't get enough of, so if you're a fan of the first film, then I'd recommend this one for you.

Fluff. Emma Thompson great as the doctor (too bad such a limited role!) but otherwise not worth watching unless you're just looking to waste some time. Mildly entertaining.

Similar formula to the previous ones seems to work well but I miss Renee's facial expressions from before. Cosmetic surgery is good for looking perfect but it takes away some of the human factor.

Mark: Well, I can always find time to save the world. And Bridget, you're my world.
