She is VERY sure of herself, but a lot of this book doesn't ring true to me. Her approach makes me very uncomfortable. I am not entirely sure why....possibly it is due to her tendency to proclaim things to be true without adequate referencing?

I am trying to work my way through the book, but I am finding some aspects of it not healthy for an empath to read. My humble opinion but at times I felt it is written in voice of our culture of blame and constant recycled words of wisdom that are cliches. I Will keep reading to finish but I so wanted this book to be different.

Such a good book that I couldn't put it down!

Highly recommend this book for empaths and sensitive people. I like how it provides insight on how to deal with difficult situations you find yourself in and how to use your empathic gifts.

This is the most down-to-earth book about high sensitivity since Elaine Aron's "The Highly Sensitive Person". Both authors cite medical and psychological research for their findings, share the wonderful aspects of the trait of sensitivity and provide solid advice on managing the trait's challenges. While HSPs and empaths may find solace in Dr. Orloff's positivity and self-soothing techniques, "The Highly Sensitive Person" better addresses the persistent cultural stigma and how to deal with the misdiagnosis of high sensitivity as a 'disorder' in medicine and therapy. Still, a great book to validate the 20% of society who are highly sensitive.
