Simply excellent read!

The author is very diverse in his ability to paint different aspects in storytelling. Whether it be character building, story focus or explaining the beauty of the environment, Sullivan excels at it all. Best of all, the author is still really good at integrating comedic irony into the story. I had said the first book reminded me a bit of Assassin's Creed, and this still holds true. Also, I felt a few nods to "Skyrim" in here. However, I don't think this takes away from the Riyria story thus far. I'm just noticing how this book captured that nerdy "Thieves Guild" nostalgia.

I had reviewed the first book in the series stating (nitpickingly) what I thought the author could have done slightly better. It's almost as if everything I had said was taken into account in this book. I had suggested better focus on other characters and this book did that very well. I even said all the "about me and extras" were a little over the top, and this book also cut all that out.

I look forward to reading the rest. I would definitely suggest this series so far.

a fun conclusion to the prequels to the Riyria Revelations

Thoroughly enjoyable edition in the Riyria series - not my favorite, but it builds to a great ending. As with the previous five in the series, lots of action and adventure, good character development, and a well-driven story that doesn't get too lost in language or setting. Highly recommended.
