The Last Movie Star
DVD - 2018
Vic Edwards was the biggest star in Hollywood, a college football legend turned stunt double turned leading man. Now in his eighties, he's convinced by an old friend to accept an invitation to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at a two-bit film festival in Nashville. The trip launches him on both a hilarious fish-out-of-water adventure and an unexpectedly poignant journey into his past.

Add a CommentI am glad I watched this movie as well. RIP Burt, RIP.
Almost like this movie was about Burt Reynold's himself. It was a nice story with his old acting work spliced in. It is a great goodbye movie for Burt.
i really liked it..thought the acting and plot was fairly lifelike and the use of old burt reynolds film was creative.
My husband , however, thought it was dumb.
so apparently depends much on individual ....
Burt died before I was able to watch the last movie of a dying man. He was trying to right all the wrongs in his past. Was he really from Knoxville, visiting his old haunts? Good clips and flash backs from many of his popular movies. He could hardly walk. His young female driver was strange.
I liked this very much, especially when he's talking to his younger self with the cut-ins from his movies. It was sad in places, and funny and touching in others. Good movie. What a star. He should have won an Oscar for Deliverance.
This is an excellent movie starring an 80+ Burt Reynolds. I hadn't heard anything about the DVD, but it was quite touching and can really be appreciated by the 50+ generation. Great movie!
A very slow movie but something kept me watching. I'm glad I did as it got more interesting as it went. Watch the extra afterwards with the director. Hearing him made it all very worthwhile. I would recommend this.
thought it was boring as they get; did not finish the movie
