My impression is that whoever concocted this schlock had little more creativity than good sense and more production money than creativity. Let's look at it ...

"Future World" ... Could they not come up with a more generic title?!? It's like that black-on-white label BEER beer. (Alternative Generic Title Proposals - Sandy Land, Bad Place, Dangerous Time, Scary Movie ... oh, wait, that one was already taken.)

The actors ... even the best known 'stars' are among the best of the HolloWood B-string -- good thing they saved money having an actor/co-director.

At best this should be considered a fantasy -- because let's take a look at reality ... no one has any bullets left for guns, but a young man needs to go on a quest into badlands so an old man forks over 2 guns and 10 of the last bullets anywhere, I doubt it. This long after civilization fell ... but there's enough gas, motorcycle parts, and tires still kicking around even after all the bullets dried up .... I don't think so. Left over clothing is still in decent supply ... probably not. And nothing is show as to how/why a club owner would let folks into his desert strip-club without trade of some sort .... same goes for the drug dealer who has to get their supply from somewhere but otherwise seems to give out their gunk free-willy-nilly?!?

If I had to guess, I suspect the writer had a half-baked bit of inspiration waking up one morning at Burning Man, sweating the residual psychotropics out of their system from the previous night's hippie-dippie-doo dance-off, and started scribbling in a 70-page spiral-bound binder -- they included every boy's-fantasy all the way down to a lesbian robot. Honestly, this is a vague step up from an Asylum film.

It's a dumbed down version of Madmax. It took everything that looks cool, yet the characters and plot is erm... stupid. Why would an advanced future have women enslaved? Why would established compound give in so easily? Why would someone pretending to help give a vague direction to the naive kid? How does such a weak gang dominate so easily? Oh, well, enjoy the eye candy. If you don't incompetent characters, this movie is painful to watch.

Mr. Franco does a really good job of wearing three hats in this written/directed/co-starring B-movie SyFy flick. It's not your common type of B-movie however, there's not much to laugh at and has a solid storyline; a kid named Prince lives in a small futuristic village with his ailing mother, The Queen (Lucy Lu) and must venture beyond the safe shelter of his home in order to seek Paradise Beach to find the medicine to cure his mother. But young Prince has never set foot beyond the gates of his own home and the desert is a treacherous place for the weak. Franco plays the villian whose just finished creating a lethal robotic female, who suddenly grows a heart after helping to entrap, torture and imprison Prince. Many stars play cameo or co-starring roles in this flick, Method Man, Snoop Dogg and Mila Jovavich to name a few.
Admittedly it isn't great but isn't meant to be, that's why they're called B-movie's instead of A+.

A lot of Mad Max without Max. Major pet peeve was motorcycles driven by the gang driving through an endless desert never had to refuel. B movie made cheaply.

Some movies are released, others escape. When this movie ended, my wife wanted to know what she just watched.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this could be the worst movie ever made.

I was excited for this one so it was a huge disappointment when I shut it off in disgust after 20 minutes. That's not something I usually do, but this one was a real stinker. It didn't know which genre it wanted to be and the acting was laugh-out-loud terrible.
