This class B 1952 film gives a basic portrait of the conflict known as the Korean War. A much better Korean war film is "The Bridges at Toko-Ri" (1954). "Retreat, Hell" displays the battles of soldiers with repeating rifles, while "Bridges" shows the war as fought by bomber jets.

Very well made Korean war film.

Gritty war film by cult director Joseph H. Lewis (Gun Crazy, The Big Combo) about the US Marines fighting retreat from the Chosen Reservoir (the "Frozen Chosen") starting with gung-ho enthusiasm and ending in near annihilation. Way, way under rated.
