It teaches kids to not be afraid of the hospitals.

My 3 year old son loved this book with CD combo. It is a really fun story, although very long for his age. The read-aloud CD takes 20 minutes!

I would caution parents that the gender attitudes in this book are something to counteract actively with your child. In the hospital, the doctors are all male, and the nurses all female, and sometimes described as "pretty". Although my son has tons of experience with female doctors in real life, after reading this book 20 times, he started saying things in his imaginative play, like "girls are nurses and boys are doctors".
