'As if Albert Speer had interfered with it ', this is what the German Else Ahlsteen looks like when Titus Orbaan meets her for the first time during a guest lecture in America. When he, back in Europe, is a guest with her old Prussian family, he looks his eyes out. But outside is not yet inside, he must acknowledge over time. Their union gradually degenerates into a thunderous mismatch. In 'The green countess' two worlds collide with each other, that of the freedom to do and think what you want and that of the old traditions, mixed with new idealism. A story about contemporary incompatibility of character and how you can deal with it, desperate or sublimating. The mind tries to tame the heart but the outcome is uncertain.
