In 1938 Fascist Italy promulgated its racial laws. Unlike the German ones, they did not mention any particular measures against homosexuals. In Italy, in fact, they were all males, active, virile and little prone to such weaknesses. These were the words with which Mussolini officially dismissed the question. We know instead that a heavy repression was carried out and that from 1938 to 1942 about 300 Italian homosexuals were sent to confinement. Few homosexual ex-confined later agreed to talk about the repression suffered and the few who did preferred to hide their identity and face. The narration starts from these facts and is inspired by the figure of one of the witnesses of this story.
