A fascinating and rather unique memoir *from within* the disease: author Greg O'Brien brings his long career in journalism into its endgame as an "embedded reporter" suffering from the disease himself. The memoir comes from an early stage, with O'Brien drawing on a strong reserve of natural intelligence, and self-awareness, since he had lived through two parents' dementia (!!). The mind of this author "blinks" - the mental lights are on, then off, then on, then off again, but through a rigorous regimen of care for body, mind, and spirit, O'Brien managed to complete this eye-opening book.
