It was really overly dramatic for me. I didn't feel very connected to Lennie because her actions and emotions were so over the top, even taken into her consideration the tragedy. And the ending with the notes was obvious from a mile away and rather clichéd, albeit quite unrealistic at the same time (not sure if I'm making sense there). That's not to say it wasn't a fun summer read. I loved Joe and Big and Lennie's grandma. Personal growth and self-discovery makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and there was plenty of that. So, good novel, but there definitely has to be conscious suspension of disbelief.
