The Leaving, this book is quite mysterious but also very interesting! This book is about 6 children starting out in kindergarten but then coming back when they’re a bit older. But wait, if six were taken should six not have come back? Apparently not with this book! I absolutely love this book and thought it was amazing. The leaving had lots of cliffhangers and was constantly leaving me on the edge of my seat while reading and I didn’t want to put the book down. I think this book is amazing and that you definitely go and check it out! This book was super action-packed and very excited to pick up and read. It was breathtaking. -@smallstories of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Six kindergarteners were taken and 11 years later only 5 of them came back. None of them remember where they were, what happened, or who the 6th person was. “The Leaving” is a mystery-thriller and your eyes will be glued to the page. If you enjoy a good mystery, then you have to read “The Leaving.” This book is really good and I finished it in a day because the suspense of the book was too good to put down. What I think about the book is that at first, it was interesting because 5 of them come back with no memory and they go home to their families. When they're uncovering the truth about what happened, and who took them, the suspension rises up and your curiosity gets the best of you because it's impossible to put down. If you love a thriller, mystery, and suspense then this is definitely the right book for you. 5/5 stars - @AquafinaAstro of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library In reading this book, I really enjoyed how complex the characters were with emotions. Obviously, such a terrible misfortune would call for very dramatic reactions, and times for everyone. To me, it seemed as if the main characters were acting too impulsively and irrationally at times, but that made the plot feel realistic in its seriousness. Perhaps in another scenario without the drama, people would be more clearheaded. I also liked how the author didn't shy away from the presence of addiction and social media/paparazzi harassment because those two are very real in society. 3.5/5 stars - @Siri of The Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
