This is the best book I've read in decades. It should be required reading for everyone who lives in this country. Meet your neighbors the American Indians, and learn the truth about how they've been treated by immigrant settlers and their descendants (that's us, folks). This is not a book of dry facts, dates and battles. It is a conversation with a native elder about events and attitudes and overflows with emotion. We can all learn a great deal from the first Americans, whose land we occupy. Suitable for older teens and adults. Recommended for book clubs.
