The Papers contain materials which document Grier's life, especially her work with Anyda Marchant (a.k.a. Sarah Aldridge) and Donna McBride to establish Naiad Press. The Naiad authors include Marion Zimmer Bradley, May Sarton, Elsa Gidlow, Jeannette Foster, Jane Rule, Valerie Taylor and Sheila Ortiz Taylor. There is excellent coverage of the media frenzy which accompanied publication of "Lesbian Nuns: Breaking Silence," edited by Rosemary Curb and Nancy Manahan.
