"When a fire takes both his parents and the family business, Shigeji is left with something worse than nothing: debts. Regardless, he vows to rebuild his father's carpentry business and keep the family's legacy alive, one way or another, even if it means forsaking any funerals or memorials for his beloved parents. Though Shigeji hides his grief behind a stoic face and gruff demeanor, he's got to manage the new housemaid his co-worker has arranged for him: Ritsu, a stubborn girl he remembers from his childhood. She's taken a number of children from the burned down orphanage under her wing and into Shigeji's house. Somehow, despite ups and downs, Shigeji and Ritsu come together to care for everyone in the Daitome household and make the most of what they've been given."--
